Romania: Industrial production shrinks at a slower pace in July
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 0.3% in working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in July, following a 0.8% fall in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in July (+1.8% vs -1.6% in June). In contrast, readings worsened for manufacturing (-0.7% vs -0.2% in June) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-0.5% vs 0.0% in June).
On a working day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production increased 2.3% in July, following a 0.6% decline in the previous month.
