Romania: Industrial activity deteriorates in June
Latest reading: Industrial output slid 0.9% in month-on-month seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in June, which was a deterioration from May’s 0.4% decrease. The decline was primarily driven by drops in mining and quarrying output, plus energy supply production. Meanwhile, manufacturing output shrank at a more moderate rate.
On an annual basis, industrial output decreased 0.7% in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in June, contrasting May’s 4.0% expansion. Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.8%, down from May’s minus 1.7% reading.
