Romania: Economic sentiment worsens in September
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 94.2 in September, following August’s 94.4. As such, the index moved further below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In September, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-11.1 vs -10.0 in August), the services sector (-0.3 vs +0.7 in August) and the retail sector (-4.8 vs -2.6 in August). On the flipside, sentiment turned more upbeat in the industrial sector (-1.5 vs -1.8 in August) and among consumers (-31.4 vs -31.5 in August).
