Qatar: Inflation stable in August
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 0.7% on a year-on-year basis in August, matching the rise seen in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (-1.5% yoy vs -2.2% in July). Meanwhile, the change in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices was the same as in the prior month (+2.7% in August and July), as was that for transportation (-1.7% in August and July).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.42% in August in month-on-month terms, following a 0.24% rise in the prior month.
