Qatar: Inflation accelerates in September from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 1.1% on a year-on-year basis in September, following a 0.7% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for clothing (+2.9% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.3% in August), housing (-0.2% vs -1.5% in August), transport (-1.1% vs -1.7% in August) and recreation and culture (+1.5% vs +0.9% in August). In contrast, price pressures reduced for food in September (+1.4% vs +2.7% in August).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.90% in September on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.42% rise in the previous month.
