Qatar: Industrial activity growth slows in July
Latest reading: In annual terms, industrial production was up 2.6% in July, following a 5.0% rise in the prior month. The reading was the weakest since March.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings worsened for the energy sector (+2.7% yoy vs +5.3% in June) and manufacturing (+3.2% vs +5.6% in June).
Outlook: Industrial output is unlikely to gain significant sustained momentum until 2026, when liquified natural gas (LNG) production is to shoot up as the first phase of the North Field expansion project is completed.
