Portugal: Industrial production decelerates in September
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.6% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in September, following a 1.1% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in September softened for manufacturing (+0.2% in calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +1.2% in August) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-1.6% vs +4.0% in August). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in September (+31.9% vs -15.8% in August).
In working day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production was up 2.0% in September, following a 3.0% increase in the previous month.
