Poland: Retail sales growth perks up in January
February 21, 2019
Nominal retail sales rose 6.6% year-on-year in January, up from December’s 4.7% rise. January’s pick-up was driven largely by faster food and beverage sales, as well as fuel sales. Motor vehicle sales, which have been volatile since the recent introduction of new emissions-testing procedures, climbed marginally.
All told, annual average growth in nominal retail sales ticked down to 7.7% from 7.9% in December.
