Poland: Retail sales growth ebbs in June

Retail sales grew 19.9% year on year in June (May: +23.6% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, textiles, clothing and footwear sales rose at a softer rate in June, while motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts sales fell at a more moderate rate.

Meanwhile, annual average retail sales growth rose to 18.2% in June (May: +17.6%), signaling an improving trend in the retail trade sector.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 4.3% in 2022, which is from last month’s forecast. For 2023, the panel sees private consumption expanding 3.0%.
