Poland: Retail sales growth loses pace in June
Latest reading: Retail sales rose by 2.2% year on year in June, marking a slowdown from May’s 4.4% increase. Looking at the details of the release, sales of motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts expanded at a softer pace, while food, beverage and tobacco purchases—which account for the largest share of total retail sales—contracted. In contrast, receipts for fuels plus textiles, clothing and footwear gained momentum.
Meanwhile, annual average retail sales growth eased to 3.0% in June (May: +3.2%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales rebounded by 0.7% in June (May: -2.0% mom s.a.).
