Poland: Auto sales dinged by emissions-testing in September

October 19, 2018

Nominal retail sales rose 5.6% from the same month a year earlier in September, down sharply from August’s 9.0% year-on-year expansion. September’s weaker reading was driven largely by a sharp fall in automobile sales amid new emissions-testing procedures.

Meanwhile, annual average growth in nominal retail sales ticked down to 8.0% from 8.2% a month earlier.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 4.1% in 2019, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2020, the panel sees private consumption expanding 3.2%.
