Poland: Inflation eases in May
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 4.1% in May, below April’s 4.3% but above the 3.5% upper bound of the Central Bank’s target range. Looking at the details of the release, energy price pressures remained stable for the fourth straight month, transportation prices fell at the quickest pace in almost two years, and price growth for food strengthened.
Annual average inflation rose to 4.5% in May from 4.3% in April.
Finally, consumer prices fell 0.20% month on month in May after having risen 0.40% in April.
