Poland: Industrial sector jumps in February
Industrial output soared 4.9% year-on-year in February, following the weaker 1.1% uptick recorded in January, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). February’s acceleration mainly reflected much faster growth in manufacturing output and a rebound in the utilities sector. Meanwhile, mining and quarrying continued to contract while growth in water supply softened.
On the other hand, annual average growth in industrial output moderated to 3.7% in February from 3.9% in January, marking the weakest record since April 2017.
