Poland: Industrial output ramps up in July

According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), industrial production expanded 10.3% in July over the same month a year prior, accelerating from June’s 6.8% reading on solid gains across the utilities supply. Meanwhile, growth in manufacturing output landed roughly in line with the headline print, while mining and quarrying output posted more moderate gains.

Moreover, annual average growth in industrial output came in at 7.3%, up from 6.9% in June.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 6.0% in 2018, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2019, the panel expects industrial production to expand 4.8%.
