Poland: Industrial output improves in May
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 3.9% year on year in May (April: +1.2% yoy), marking the best reading since October 2024. May’s notable upturn was largely due to an acceleration in manufacturing output and a rebound in energy production. Moreover, mining and quarrying output declined at a softer pace.
On a monthly basis, factory output grew 0.7% in seasonally adjusted terms in May, which was below April’s 1.0% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 1.4% in May (April: +1.1%). This signals an improving trend in the industrial sector.
