Poland: Economic sentiment falls to six-month low in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 99.4 in July, down from June’s 101.5. July’s result marked the weakest sentiment since January. Consequently, the index dipped below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the industrial and retail sectors, as well as weaker confidence among service providers and consumers. On the flipside, July marked improved sentiment in the construction sector.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index fell in July.
