Philippines: Merchandise trade deficit narrows in August
Latest reading: In August, the trade balance was USD -3.5 billion, following a USD -4.4 billion reading in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD -52.4 billion.
Exports rose 4.6% in annual terms in August, coming on the back of a 5.8% increase in the prior month. Imports fell 4.9% in annual terms in August, following a 5.8% rise in the prior month.
