Panama: Consumer prices record smallest fall since February in July
Latest reading: Consumer prices fell 0.4% on an annual basis in July, unchanged from June’s result and marking the joint-smallest drop in consumer prices since February. Prices for housing and utilities plus transport fell at a softer rate compared to June, while price growth for food was the lowest so far this year.
The annual average variation of consumer prices ticked down to minus 0.3% in July (June: -0.2%).
Finally, consumer prices fell 0.07% over the previous month in July, mirroring June’s reading. July’s figure was the joint-highest reading since March.
