October 14, 2019
Consumer prices were unchanged over the prior month in September, following the 0.3% decline in August. Higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages; alcoholic beverages and tobacco; and restaurants and hotels offset a sharp fall in transport costs.
Meanwhile, consumer prices fell 0.6% on an annual basis in September, matching August’s drop. Annual average consumer prices fell 0.1% year-on-year in September, following a flat reading in August.
