Netherlands: Industrial production returns to growth in August
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 2.2% in working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in August, following a 1.6% drop in the previous month and marking the fastest expansion in nine months.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in August improved for manufacturing (+1.8% mom s.a. vs -1.2% in July) and mining and quarrying (-0.2% vs -4.3% in July). In contrast, the reading for water collection and distribution worsened in August (-3.6% vs +1.0% in July).
On a calendar-adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production rose 0.6% in August, following a 0.3% rise in the previous month.
