Netherlands: Economic sentiment falls in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 97.0 in July from June’s 97.2, remaining below the long-term average of 100 and pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial sector and weaker confidence in the retail sector. More positively, consumer sentiment improved, and confidence in the construction and services sectors strengthened in July.
Among indicators not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index fell in July.
