Netherlands: Economic sentiment picks up in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 97.1 in June from May’s 96.9. However, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger confidence in the construction, retail and services sectors. Moreover, sentiment among consumers improved. That said, sentiment in the industrial sector weakened.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index fell in June.
