Malaysia: Merchandise trade surplus widens in August
Latest reading: In August, the trade balance was USD +3.8 billion, following a USD +3.4 billion reading in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +33.3 billion.
Exports were up 6.4% in year-on-year terms in August, coming on the back of a 17.6% rise in the prior month. Imports were down 1.8% in year-on-year terms in August, coming on the back of a 11.1% rise in the previous month.
