Malaysia: Inflation stabilizes in April
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 1.4% in April, unchanged from March and remaining at the lowest level since February 2021. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a softer rate; prices for housing and utilities rose at a quicker clip; and transport cost growth broadly stabilized.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at March’s 1.8% in April.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.15% in April over the previous month, after March’s flat result.
