Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation rises in June
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation increased to 2.4% in June from May’s 2.1%, marking the highest inflation rate since July 2024. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food, recreation plus housing and utilities rose at a faster rate. Moreover, transportation costs declined at a milder pace.
The trend pointed down slightly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 1.7% in June (May: 1.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 2.2% in June from the previous month’s 2.0%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.27% over the previous month in June, which was below May’s 0.48% rise. June’s result marked the softest rise in prices since March.
