Lithuania: Harmonized inflation dips in May
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 3.0% in May, down from April’s 3.6%. May’s figure represented the weakest inflation rate since December 2024. The decline was broad-based, with lower price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities.
Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 1.9% in May (April: 1.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 3.4% in May from the previous month’s 4.1%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.28% in May over the previous month, swinging from the 0.21% rise logged in April. May’s result marked the weakest reading since August 2024.
