Lithuania: Inflation rises in August from July
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices were up 3.6% in annual terms in August, following a 3.4% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.2% vs +5.7% in July), transportation (+0.5% vs +0.4% in July), housing and utilities (+1.9% vs +1.4% in July) and restaurants and hotels (+7.3% vs +7.2% in July). In contrast, price pressures reduced for recreation in August (+2.9% vs +3.5% in July).
Meanwhile, consumer prices were up 4.0% year on year in August, following a 3.8% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.31% in August on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.12% rise in the previous month.
