Lithuania: Industrial output surges in March
Industrial output surged 16.3% in year-on-year terms in March, gaining considerable momentum following February’s 5.3% rise and marking the sharpest increase since April 2019. March’s figure was mainly driven by quicker growth in manufacturing and energy supply output, as well as a rebound in mining and quarrying activities.
On a monthly basis, industrial output rose 4.5% in seasonally-adjusted terms in March (February: +2.8% mom) and marked the best result in over two years. Meanwhile, the trend continued to improve, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at plus 0.9%, up from February’s minus 0.6%.
