Lithuania: Industrial output records best reading since September 2019 in September
Industrial output expanded 2.4% compared to the same month a year earlier in September, which was above August’s 0.8% increase.
September’s result marked the strongest increase since September 2019. The reading reflected a broad-based upturn, with activity in the manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sub-sectors all improving in September.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 0.4% in September (August: +2.3% mom), the worst result since April. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.9% in September, down from August’s minus 1.4%.
