Lithuania: Economic sentiment eases in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 101.4 in May from April’s 101.9. Still, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected worse sentiment in the industrial and retail sectors. More positively, May saw improved sentiment in the construction sector plus stronger confidence in the services sector and among consumers.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in May.
