July 8, 2021

Consumer prices increased 0.36% over the previous month in June, below the 0.45% rise logged in May. June's result marked the softest rise in prices since December 2020. Inflation came in at 2.7% in June, up from May’s 2.6% reading and marking the highest inflation rate since August 2019. Lastly, annual average inflation rose to 0.4% in June (May: +0.1%).

FocusEconomics panelists see harmonized inflation averaging 1.6% in 2021, which is unchanged from the previous month’s forecast, and 2.1% in 2022.
