Kenya: Inflation stabilizes in October
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 4.6% in annual terms in October, unchanged from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.9% in annual terms vs +1.4% in September) and transportation (+4.8% vs +4.0% in September). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+8.0% vs +8.4% in September) and clothing (+2.9% vs +3.3% in September).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.19% in October on a month-on-month basis, down from 0.24% in the prior month.
