Kazakhstan: Inflation comes in at the highest level in two years in August
Latest reading: Inflation jumped to 12.2% in August from July’s 11.7%, the highest level in two years and further above the Central Bank’s 5.0% target. Price pressures increased across the board, with paid services, food and non-food products experiencing accelerated price growth in August from July.
Accordingly, annual average inflation rose to 10.0% in August (July: 9.7%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.95% over the previous month in August, accelerating from July’s 0.66% increase. August’s figure marked the highest reading since April.
