Kazakhstan: Inflation comes in at highest level since August 2008 in October
Inflation rose to 18.8% in October, above Septembers 17.7%. October’s result marked the highest inflation rate since August 2008. Looking at the details of the release, inflation was broad-based; prices for food, housing and utilities as well as clothing rose at a faster rate in October.
Annual average inflation rose to 13.1% in October (September: 12.2%). Lastly, consumer prices increased 1.60% from the previous month in October, a smaller increase than the 1.79% rise recorded in September.
