Italy: Industrial output growth speeds up in July
Latest reading: Industrial output rose 0.4% in month-on-month seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in July, which was above June’s 0.2% increase. The figure was due to faster growth in manufacturing output. In contrast, mining and quarrying output fell, and energy production contracted.
On an annual basis, industrial output rebounded, rising 0.7% in July (June: -0.7% yoy), the best result since January 2023. Accordingly, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 2.3%, up from June’s minus 2.7%.
