Italy: Industrial output bounces back in March
Latest reading: Industrial output grew 0.1% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in March (February: -0.9% mom s.a.). The pickup was largely driven by a rebound in manufacturing production. In contrast, mining and quarrying output decelerated and energy supply contracted.
On an annual basis, industrial production declined 1.9% in March, easing from February’s 2.7% fall. Accordingly, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 3.5%, up from February’s minus 3.6% reading.
