Italy: Industrial output rebounds in June
Latest reading: Industrial output grew 0.2% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in June (May: -0.8% mom s.a.). June’s rebound was due to improvements in manufacturing output and energy production. In contrast, mining and quarrying output fell.
On an annual basis, industrial output fell at a more moderate pace of 1.0% in June (May: -1.1% yoy). Moreover, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at a one-year high of minus 2.8%, up from May’s minus 3.0% reading.
