Ireland: Economic sentiment rises in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 100.0 in July, up from June’s 98.7. As a result, the index lies at the long-term average of 100, pointing to a solid near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the construction, services and retail sectors. However, sentiment in the industrial sector worsened. Lastly, consumer confidence deteriorated in July.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in July.
