Ireland: Economic sentiment increases in September
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 97.6 in September, following August’s 97.1. As a result, the index moved closer to the long-term average of 100, pointing to a less downbeat near-term outlook for the economy.
In September, sentiment improved in the construction sector (+16.1 vs +12.7 in August) and the services sector (+16.8 vs +15.8 in August). However, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (+7.3 vs +9.7 in August), the retail sector (+8.5 vs +9.6 in August) and among consumers (-16.7 vs -16.3 in August).
