Ireland: Economic sentiment increases in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 98.7 in June from May’s 98.3. That said, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment among consumers. That said, confidence in the construction, industrial, retail and services sectors waned in the surveyed month.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index rose in June.
