Ireland Consumer Confidence October 2021

Ireland: Consumer confidence picks up but remains in negative territory in October

Consumer confidence rose to 86.8 in October from September’s 86.4. Despite the uptick, the index remained below the 100-threshold, and indicated pessimism among consumers.

The marginally higher print reflected an improved outlook on the economy as well as firmer employment expectations. Meanwhile, ongoing preoccupations regarding consumers’ personal finances weighed on the headline reading.
