Indonesia: Inflation picks up in October from September
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 2.9% on a year-on-year basis in October, following a 2.7% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for transport (+0.5% in annual terms vs -0.1% in September) and recreation and entertainment (+1.2% vs +1.1% in September). In contrast, price pressures reduced for clothing and footwear in October(+0.7% vs +0.8% in September). Finally, the variations in prices for food, beverages and tobacco plus housing, water, electricity and household fuels were the same as in the prior month (+5.0% and +1.6% respectively).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices rose 2.4% in annual terms in October, following a 2.2% rise in the previous month.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.28% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.21% rise in the previous month.
