Indonesia: Inflation picks up in July
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 2.4% in July, up from June’s 1.9% and marking the highest level since June 2024. The acceleration was due to the strongest rise in food prices in over a year. Meanwhile, price growth for housing and utilities plus transport remained broadly stable from the prior month.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at June’s 1.5% in July. Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 2.3% in July from the previous month’s 2.4%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.30% from the previous month in July, picking up from June’s 0.19% rise.
