Hungary: Industrial production falls at softer clip in July
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 0.9% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 4.9% drop in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, manufacturing contracted less in July then in June (-0.6% vs -5.2% in June). In contrast, readings softened for mining and quarrying (-8.4% vs +5.1% in June) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (-6.0% vs +0.7% in June).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production rose 2.1% in July, following a 1.2% fall in the previous month.
