Guatemala: Inflation ebbs in October from September
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 1.3% in annual terms in October, following a 1.5% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were reduced price pressures for housing, electricity, water and fuel (+2.1% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.8% in September) and clothing and footwear (+0.8% vs +1.3% in September). In contrast, price pressures were higher for food and alcoholic beverages in October (+1.1% vs +0.9% in September).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.12% in October in month-on-month terms, following a 0.08% decline in the prior month.
