Guatemala: inflation falls to joint-lowest level since December 2009 in July
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 1.2% in July, down from June’s 1.8%. July’s result marked the joint-lowest inflation rate since December 2009. Looking at the details of the release, the moderation was largely due to slower growth in prices for food and alcoholic beverages.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.8% in July (June: 2.0%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.25% in July over the previous month, matching June’s reading.
