Guatemala: Inflation remains stable in August
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 1.2% in August, matching July’s figure. Price pressures for food and alcoholic beverages ticked up, broadly offsetting weaker price growth for housing and utilities plus a sharper drop in transport costs.
Annual average inflation fell to 1.6% in August (July: 1.8%).
Finally, consumer prices dropped 0.06% over the previous month in August, contrasting July’s 0.25% rise. August’s result marked the weakest reading since February.
