Guatemala Economic Activity February 2022

Guatemala: Economic activity growth ebbs in February

April 26, 2022

Economic activity grew 3.9% year-on-year in February (January: +4.6% yoy). The result marked the worst reading since February 2021, and suggests that the economy began to lose steam in the first quarter.

Nonetheless, the reading was supported by robust growth in the manufacturing, trade and repair of vehicles, real estate, agriculture, and services sectors.

GDP is seen expanding 4.1% in 2022. For 2023, our panelists expect the economy to grow 3.4%.
