Greece: Industrial production contracts in August
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 4.1% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in August, following a 0.4% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in August softened for manufacturing (-3.8% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +0.5% in July), electricity supply (-9.7% vs -1.2% in July) and water supply (-2.1% vs -0.4% in July). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in August (-1.1% vs -4.2% in July).
On a working day adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production was down 2.9% in August, following a 0.5% fall in the prior month.
