Greece: Industrial production returns to growth in September
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 4.6% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in September, recovering from a 4.1% drop in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in September improved for manufacturing (+6.4% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -3.7% in August)—driven mainly by a rebound in output of computers, electronic and optical products—energy (+3.6% vs -9.7% in August), water supply (+2.3% vs -2.2% in August) and mining and quarrying (+1.7% vs -1.1% in August).
In working day adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production rose 6.8% in September, following a 2.8% drop in the prior month.
